John's aim as Director of Events leads down to two words: "building community." He believes in the value of fellowship, authentic community, and genuine intellectual exchange, creating a space for students in exchanging their discoveries and knowledge, backed with a supportive and knowledgeable community. He also believes in intellectual humility, which facilitates the free exchange of ideas without fear of shame. Lastly, he believes in charity that comes from a big heart, with the intent of improving and developing fellow students for the greater good. These are the values John will work towards in the HESIRSC, a place where community building draws on and extends to our global community.
